RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) — A young lady suffering from a rare disease is using her own life experiences to help others who are suffering from hardship.

Jamie Holmes has had to endure 30 surgeries in her young life, suffering from V.A.T.E.R. Syndrome. During her time in the hospital, it was the outpouring of love support and gifts from friends and family that helped her get through the tough times.

Now, she’s trying to pass that on. She started a program called Jamie’s Dream Team, where she helps people suffering from diseases and illnesses fulfill their dreams.

Today the dream team was in Sparks, providing a dream scholarship to Katie Branson, who suffered brain damage and cardiac complications after coming down with the flu.

Her mom wanted to try a new type of therapy to help her regain mobility, and Jamie’s Dream Team agreed to help.

Katie’s mom says Katie has only been doing the therapy for a week and is already showing signs of progress.
